Silent no more?

July 14, 2010

I’ve gone back and forth on the issue of starting a blog again for a while now. There’s several things to consider…

For one, should I tell people I know about it? I guarantee you that 75% of my day, I am thinking something that I shouldn’t say out loud. For instance, right now all I can think about is how much our open spaces at work really annoy me sometimes. Many of us spend a good amount of time on the phone during the day. SOME of us have very loud and/or deep voices that trump even the headphones I have on right now and OMG LOWER YOUR VOICE JACKASS. I can’t even think anymore – like, where the hell was I going with this thought??? No one wants to hear you complain about your tech problems to your buddy – SHUT THE HELL UP.

Oh, I remember now. See… damn it. Hold on.

And then *I* get a call and now this blog is shot to hell. I’m not entirely sure anymore what the point of me blogging would be… I know what my thoughts are and while, no, I likely won’t remember them an hour later, I also am not likely to read back over this blog except to make sure I didn’t misspell or ramble on like a moron. A month from now, I won’t give a rats ass what I was thinking on Wednesday, July 14, 2010.

So should it be only mine? But why? That doesn’t interest me at all. I don’t care what I think.

Hmmm… doesn’t make any sense.

I should say… I don’t care to go on and on when I know very well that no one is listening.

Okay, then – let’s tell people about it. But who? What if I want to cuss? Like, total profanity in a really graphic way? Or talk about religion in a way that upsets people I care about? What if I want to talk about you? What if I tell people I work with about it and then I have something rude or whiny to say about work? That’s incredibly unprofessional.

I don’t always think very nice things. Or, I’m thinking things that people in general just don’t like to hear. And I don’t believe a blog serves any point for me if I’m censoring what I write all the time.

Okay, now we’re discussing our wife’s c-section on the phone in front of everyone around you? Seriously? We have private rooms people can go into and have these types of conversations. Is there a way to suggest this without being “that person” in the office? No. No, there is not.

*exhales loudly* I just did that.

Something to think more on later. The censoring issue, not his wife’s c-section. Ew.

For now, and when McLoudMouth over here doesn’t loudly intervene, I am enjoying this album very much:

July Flame by Laura Veirs
(thank you, Sunny, my dear, fellow music fiend)

Nice and relaxing music.

Up next… (or maybe not. We’ll see.)

*A True Blood recap? I love talking about, thinking about, and obsessing about this show. What will life be like when Season 3 is over? I will have to start reading/exercising/having a life again, I suppose.

*How much can I complain about how much money I don’t have before I get completely annoyed with myself?

*Will my new Apple back up drive crash my computer, therefore, destroying my life as I know it? The reviews went back and forth, but it was a good price, so I’m kind of taking a risk. I’m so edgy.

*Did that second thought completely contradict the third one? I think it did. Hi, I’m a spoiled American consumer living beyond my means… every so often.

*Is it bad manners to stick money in your bra? Or is it just trashy? What if I have no pockets? Let’s be reasonable, people.

*Should we still give money to Haiti even though Haiti won’t give any of it to their poor people? Could the argument be made we are making a rich, corrupt and disorganized government even richer, more corrupt and disorganized? I’m not arguing having compassion for these people… but help seems so futile right now. Are we helping or just making it worse?

*Can you believe Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem got married finally??? Do you think they use their Oscars as book ends??? I would. The problem would come when deciding what books to put between them… like, I don’t think my Twilight or Sookie Stackhouse books would look terribly appropriate between two Oscars. Maybe some of my books from college, although they are mostly short in length and the Oscar statues are tall and OMG why am *I* worrying about this?

* I don’t WANT to stop and back up my files - YOU back up my files! I’m sick of doing it! It never ENDS!!!

I don’t have anything else. Bye for now?
